We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes ownership of their work, and follows tasks through to completion. This position is responsible for processing cancellations, posting ACH transactions, reviewing Contracts in Transit (CIT), reconciling accounts, researching discrepancies, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.

We are willing to train the right candidate. Previous automotive accounting experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process cancellation requests accurately and timely.
  • Post and reconcile ACH banking transactions.
  • Review and manage Contracts in Transit (CIT).
  • Research and resolve funding, payment, and accounting discrepancies.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank activity.
  • Monitor outstanding items and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, lenders, vendors, and customers as needed.
  • Assist with month-end closing and other accounting functions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Identify issues and proactively work toward solutions.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred but not required
  • Previous accounting, bookkeeping, AR/AP, banking, or office administration experience preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
