PAYROLL SPECIALIST
North Park Subaru San Pedro is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will have high character and a strong work ethic.
Job Duties:
Essential duties include the following: other duties may be assigned by management
* Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data as directed
* Review timesheets, compiles payroll data such as hours worked; sales commissions, bonuses, etc.,
* Prepare multiple payroll cycles during a month with accuracy and efficiency
* Verifies payroll data for accuracy before payroll transactions are processed
* Provide exceptional customer service and teamwork with fellow associates
* Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting data and analyzing information
* Process and remit 401 (k) deferrals, garnishments orders
* Timely payment and reporting of payroll taxes and other benefit/deductions
* Reporting to state agencies as required, Quarterly reports, W2's, etc.,
* Process all employee insurance premiums, enrollments, and/or changes
* Maintains vacation and sick pay accruals
* Maintains all payroll related schedules
* Cross train
Job Requirements:
* High School Diploma or equivalent; College degree desired
* Knowledge of accounting fundamentals, 1 year of experience in payroll or accounting desired
* Experience with payroll reporting to state and government entities including quarterly reporting, and year end reporting.
* Experience processing payroll in Kronos desired
* Ability to work extended hours when necessary
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Must have working knowledge of intermediate Excel spreadsheet and database maintenance
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to communicate in a professional manner on the phone, E-mail, and in person
* Strong work ethic with commitment to high energy performance, quality and service excellence
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Ten Key by touch
* Automotive experience desired
* Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, hair analysis drug screen, and motor vehicle record check
