Accounting Clerk – North Park Lexus of Rio Grande Valley, San Juan Texas


Accounting Clerks under the leadership of the Controller will support the process to satisfy customer demands for Lexus and other vehicles by providing excellent administrative services to customers that exceed their expectations. The Clerk will 1) perform basic and routine accounting functions and 2) support payroll operations. 
 
Essential Responsibilities

1. Perform basic and routine accounting functions. Compare codes and numbers on similar and repetitive accounting documents, verify mathematical accuracy, identify discrepancies, and notify supervisor of discrepancies.
2. Handle miscellaneous clerical tasks as assigned.
3. Complete specific tasks assigned by manager.
4. Refer all issues not covered by instructions to manager.
5. Ensure the office space is kept neat and clean at all times.
6. Fully coordinate and communicate work with appropriate associates.
7. Coordinate lists for file retention.
8. Reconcile schedules and GL accounts as assigned by Controller and Assistant Office Manager; maintain assigned accounting schedules
9. Assist Controller and Assistant Office Manager in preparation of financial statement data.
10. Replace accounting personnel in their absence.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None. May participate in or support project and process improvement teams.

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with North Park Lexus policies, Lexus operating standards, and applicable federal and state laws.

Leadership
 

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
